“Boston, then New York. But I decided to come back home. I’m… I don’t know. I suppose I could just say I’m good, but I’d be lying to myself. I’ve been better, that I can tell you.”
“So why’d you decide to come back exactly? I’m sorry.. I hope you’ll feel better soon then.”
“Paris is a beautiful place. Who knows i might return there in the future” said Alex, he really missed Paris and he had created memories there, “Do you have any hobbies?”
“Yeah, it’s an awesome city for sure. Hobbies? Yeah, I skate and surf, and I love to mess around with old cars and bikes. What about you?”
“Thank you. I mean they were all teenagers and kids. I guess its because I treat my movies as if they were my own but that is about it. Oh well….thanks I guess?”
“Fucking kids these days,” he laughed. “Yeah, you’re fine.”
At Tristan’s kindness, Winnie felt even worse, and almost by instinct, she threw her arms around Tristan’s waist and buried her face against his chest. “No,” she whispered into his shirt. “No one hurt me.” She inhaled the familiar scent of his cologne, trying to calm down. She had to be an adult about this, or at least have a semblance of one.
She looked up at him, wiping her eyes as she did. “Promise not to hate me,” she whispered pleadingly, gazing up at him. “This is really…this is really serious, but I’m not sure of anything yet. I haven’t…” She realized she was getting ahead of herself and she took a deep breath. “Come on,” she said, taking his hand and leading him into the living room, where they both sat down on the couch. She took a deep breath and released it slowly, trying to calm her racing heart. “I, um…I haven’t taken any…any tests yet, because the ones you take at home aren’t one hundred percent. But I’ve been…I’ve been feeling sick lately, and I’m…I’m late…”
The
creases on his forehead deepened when she embraced him, his form momentarily
frozen in confusion before his arms enveloped her and held her against him.
“No one hurt you.” He repeated with a nod, hands pressing to her back
soothingly as questions swirled around his head. What was this about then?
His
eyes found hers when she pulled back, clouded by this confusion and
anticipation. Was he supposed to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst?
Did something happen to her family? He couldn’t stifle the questions, yet he
couldn’t push them past his lips either. “Um…
okay.” He followed her like an obedient puppy, sitting next to her. It took him too long to
understand what she was trying to tell him, his brain not really putting
together the pieces because this was the last thing he expected to her.
Once he finally realized what she meant, it hit him like a ton of bricks, his
eyes widening. “What?” He stood from his seat instantly, looking down
at her to see if she was joking. He knew she wasn’t. “But we used
protection, Win? Like… What?”
“Maybe so, but I don’t think it’s an easy habit to break… at least, it’s the impression I get from Chloe.” Liam answered, shaking his head a moment. “Ugh, the nine to five thing, hate that.” A smirk danced across his features as he said that, seeing as that was how he lived most of his life. “I don’t know my own either, so no.. funnily enough,” he answered smiling. “The place is fine, as am I, and Chloe’s doing okay now. She spent a few days in hospital, but she’s out now and she’s doing well.”
“She’s
into them too?” He rolled his eyes, but chuckled next. All girls seemed to
be into One Direction, at least all teenage girls. “No, you don’t. You
love the nine to five thing,” he laughed. He respected him a lot for it
though— Tristan was too lazy to ever hold a job like that. He was lucky to have
made it without. “Fair enough. I think I’d be concerned if you knew my
work week, actually. I’m glad Chloe is well, and the shop as well. When do you
get off today?”
“I was born and grew up in Lakewood. Traveled for a few years after i graduated and now i am back in town. Can i ask where in Europe you sent your time, i know i was in Rome and Paris majority of my time before i returned back to Lakewood”
“Oh man that’s pretty cool. About time we met then, right? I spent a lot of time in London, but the majority of my time was spent in France. Paris and Montpellier.”
